6 Married Months

6 months ago today I took my wife’s hand in marriage.

….well that went quick.
Really, people told us it would go fast – but I can’t believe it’s been 6 months already! At least people stopped asking us when we are going to have kids. That question must have been the first thing people asked for a good 3 or 4 months after the wedding (and for the record, you’re going to be waiting a while longer – God willing!).

Really though, it’s amazing how quickly times flies. I think I finally understand why parents tend to take so many photos these days of their children and lives in general – because the time simply passes so quickly and the photo will remind us of that one moment years later when everything is simply a blur.

In any case – 6 months. That was quick – and I can’t wait for the next day with my wife.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Fire Alarm!

Last night my wife and I had just gotten into bed when we both heard and jumped into action at the same moment – a fire alarm.

I don’t think I’ve ever gotten out of bed, grabbed the flashlight off my dresser and gotten out of the bedroom that fast before. Turns out it was a false alarm (Amen!) and it was a faulty old fire alarm that was going off. My wife no longer wonders – or question – why I have a flash light on top of my dresser now!

I’m trying to think about what this experience is trying to teach me, other than the value of being prepared at a moments notice. And that maybe I should replace all of our old fire alarms…
